A former professional with a 17-year career across NPC (Bay of Plenty & Canterbury) Super Rugby (Chiefs, Highlanders, Sunwolves), European rugby with Edinburgh, Japan (Kyuden) and international honours with Scotland national rugby union team, Phil brings genuine elite experience in skill execution, game management and player development. October 12th 1941 - December 30th 2025 We are saddened to share the passing of Ron Virgen, beloved husband of Annette, loving father to Karen, Chris, Paula and Warren, a treasured father-in-law, and a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather.
