All at Brothers Rugby Club are deeply saddened by the passing of club legend and Life Member, Dallas John O’Neill. A schoolboy prodigy from Nudgee College, Dallas represented Brothers, Queensland and Australia with honour, captaining both Brothers and Queensland during the 1960s and leaving an extraordinary legacy on and off the field.

A devastating No.8 and natural leader, Dallas played First Grade for Brothers from 1962–66, captaining the side to the 1966 Hospital Cup premiership. He represented Queensland from 1962–66, serving as captain from 1964–66, and earned Australian honours from 1962–64.

Dallas’ impact on the club only grew after his playing career. As First Grade coach from 1973–77 and 1979, he guided Brothers to a historic premiership three-peat in 1973, 1974 and 1975. He remains one of only four men to achieve premiership success with Brothers as both a player and coach, and was deservedly awarded Brothers Life Membership in 2016.

The Brothers community extends our sincere condolences to Dallas’ family and friends, and we thank him for the many years he dedicated to building the strong culture of our great club. He will be remembered.
