Brothers have continued their unbeaten run with a strong 34–22 victory over Souths in a fast-paced and physical contest that had momentum swings throughout the afternoon.
The home side struck first through Dalle Cort, who straightened the attack, spotted a gap, and sliced through the Souths defence with a sharp shimmy of the shoulders to cross for the opening five-pointer. He made no mistake with the conversion, giving Brothers an early 7–0 lead.
Souths responded quickly, fighting their way back into the contest with a try of their own to get on the board and apply immediate pressure.
However, Brothers answered through a well-constructed midfield movement, with Fusitu'a breaking the line and linking inside to Smith, who finished off the move to restore momentum. Once again, Dalle Cort added the extras to extend the lead.
The contest continued to swing both ways, with Souths refusing to go away. They struck back with another try in a back-and-forth battle that kept the score tight and the intensity high.
Brothers, however, edged ahead before halftime and took a 21–12 lead into the break, showing composure under pressure and control in key moments.
Early in the second half, Souths again closed the gap with a determined try, keeping themselves within reach. But Brothers responded with class, moving the ball wide through the left edge, where a slick backline shift involving the Grafton and Prass where they set up Urquhart to dive over and secure the bonus point try.
Dalle Cort then added a penalty goal, further strengthening Brothers’ grip on the match as they managed territory and tempo through the middle stages of the half.
Souths continued to fight and crossed again late in the game to stay in contention, but Brothers had the final say.
A late try sealed the result, pushing the margin out and confirming a hard-fought 34–22 victory.
Brothers remain undefeated, once again showing their ability to respond under pressure, execute in key moments, and close out games when it matters most.
