Brothers have secured their place in the Sumo Energy Hospital Cup Grand Final for the fourth consecutive season, overcoming a spirited Norths outfit 33–25 in a thrilling Major Semi Final at GPS Rugby Club.
With a Grand Final berth on the line, the Brethren produced a performance full of composure, physicality and attacking firepower when it mattered most.
Norths came out with plenty of intent, ensuring Brothers were made to work from the opening whistle. The Eagles continued to challenge throughout the contest, keeping the pressure on and refusing to let Brothers have it all their own way.
But when the opportunity came, Brothers found another gear.
The Brethren exploded into life with a remarkable five tries in just 21 minutes, turning the momentum of the contest firmly in their favour.
Tim Ryan was at his electric best, crossing twice to provide Brothers with a dangerous attacking threat out wide. Prop George Tuineau also powered over for a two-try performance, while backrower Vaiuta Latu added another close-to-the-line effort as Brothers' attacking surge began to take control of the match.
Despite the scoreboard pressure, Norths continued to fight their way back into the contest and refused to let Brothers run away with it. The Eagles kept the intensity high right through to the final whistle, setting up a tense finish.
Brothers, however, showed the composure that has become a hallmark of their season.
They absorbed the pressure, defended their lead and held their nerve to secure a 33–25 victory and, most importantly, direct passage into the Grand Final.
The win caps another outstanding season for the Brethren and gives Brothers the opportunity to defend their Hospital Cup title on the biggest stage.
