Brothers made it another important win on the road, overcoming Wests 30-21 in a physical Round 17 clash to continue their strong run towards the finals.
With both sides prepared for a bruising contest, the opening stages were a battle for territory and possession before Brothers struck first. William Wilson crossed the line to open the scoring, giving the visitors an early advantage in a match where every point would prove valuable.
Wests responded to keep the contest tight, but Brothers continued to apply pressure throughout the first half. Dominic Fraser produced the next breakthrough, finishing off a well-worked attacking movement to restore Brothers' momentum. Benn Dalle Cort added the extras where possible, while his reliable boot ensured Brothers headed into the halftime break holding a deserved 12-7 lead.
Knowing Wests would come out firing after the break, Brothers wasted little time extending their advantage. Kaelan Grafton crossed early in the second half before Graham Urquhart added another, rewarding sustained pressure and giving Brothers breathing room on the scoreboard.
Dalle Cort continued to control the game with his kicking, converting two tries and adding a pair of penalty goals to keep the scoreboard ticking over and maintain Brothers' buffer whenever Wests threatened to close the gap.
To their credit, Wests refused to go away, scoring three tries across the afternoon and mounting a late challenge that kept the contest alive deep into the second half. Brothers were forced to dig in defensively, showing composure under pressure as the home side searched for one final opportunity.
With the final siren sounding, Dalle Cort calmly slotted a penalty goal to put the result beyond doubt, sealing a well-earned 30-21 victory.
It wasn't Brothers' flashiest performance of the season, but it was one built on resilience, discipline and the ability to respond under pressure.
As the competition edges closer to finals, these are the types of victories that build confidence, with Brothers once again proving they can find a way to get the job done when it matters most.
It was another positive weekend for Brothers, with strong performances across the club highlighting the depth and quality within the program as the regular season draws to a close.
From the Colts to Premier Grades, Brothers continued to showcase the consistency that has become a hallmark of the 2026 season. Every side took to the field with confidence and determination, producing performances built on disciplined defence, exciting attacking rugby and a commitment to playing for one another.
Beyond the results, the weekend was another reflection of the culture that exists throughout the club. Every team continues to play with pride in the butcher's stripes, supporting one another and contributing to a successful season across the entire Brothers program.
With just one round remaining before finals, excitement continues to build around Crosby Park. The hard work throughout the season has laid a strong foundation, but the focus now shifts to finishing the regular season strongly and carrying that momentum into the business end of the year.
