Brothers too strong for Bond University

Brothers have secured their second straight victory in the Queensland Premier Rugby competition as they ran in seven tries to defeat Bond University, 48-19.

A brace of tries from Reds Under 20’s representative Giles Beveridge highlighted the expansive game plan the Brethren employed and Bond could not hold on despite an impressive first half performance.

The home side only trailed 24-14 at the break but they were outscored 24-5 in the second term as Brothers ran away with the match in the closing stages.

The bonus point win elevates Brothers to second place on the table due to their superior points difference over Souths.

Meanwhile, the result leaves Bond without a competition point despite their improved performances through the first two rounds of 2014.

Bond will be looking to get their first points of season 2014 this weekend when they travel to Oldmac Oval to take on Sunnybank, while Brothers enjoy an early bye.
