Last weekend the U12’s travelled to Sydney to take on Mosman Junior Rugby Club for the Annual Brothers v Mosman John Eales Shield. 44 players travelled down to Sydney and were billeted out to Mosman families.
The Brothers boys did the club proud bringing the Shield home for the first time. Thanks to those who sponsored the tour and to the organisers.
See below a letter sent to the club from Mosman Age Group Coordinator
Dear Brothers Parents,
As Under 12 age group co-or donator and main your contact for the Brothers 2016 Mosman tour I would like to pass on a quick message of behalf of the Mosman Junior Rugby Club.
Firstly, let me say that we are naturally saddened by the loss of the John Eales Shield to your visiting team from North of the Border. Having said that - there was plenty of good hard rugby over the weekend but I must admit the Brothers boys were deserving winners and no doubt the club song rang out long and loud on the plane trip home.
Secondly and more importantly I would like to commend you as parents and as a club on the fine group of young men that you are raising. Every single family that billeted one of your boys has commented to me on how great the experience was and how polite and well mannered these young men were. It is a credit to you all, and you should be proud of your sons. They did you and your rugby club proud.
It was a big task to organise such an event, and if you have not done so already, you should buy Randall Corless and his team a beer - or three. They did a great job and I am sure that the boys experience was made even better by their efficiency and organisational skill.
Lastly, 2017. Bring it on, we are bruised and our ego dented - but we look forward to revenge!!
All the very best for the BJRU season ahead and I wish you every success on the field (except against the mighty Sunnybank machine!!)
All the best
